Chris grew up as a military kid and was saved at the age of 9 in Puerto Rico through the ministry of a missionary to the military. Heidi grew up in Greenville, South Carolina, where her father teaches at Bob Jones University. Both Chris and Heidi graduated from Bob Jones University. They meet each other at University Baptist Church in Clemson, SC, while Chris was working on a master's degree in math at Clemson. They were married in 2000, and Chris finished his seminary training in 2002 at Detroit Baptist Theological Seminary.
God has blessed the Seawrights with 5 children: Rachel (2003), Isaac (2005), Susanna (2007), Titus (2009), and Seth (2013). Their family's names are easy to remember using the acrostic "Christ's": Chris, Heidi, Rachel, Isaac, Susanna, Titus, and Seth.
The Seawrights arrived in Cambodia on March 4, 2004. They spent the first year in the capital city of Phnom Penh, focusing all of their energies on language learning and cultural adaptation. From March 2005 to March 2010, their family worked with the Forrest McPhail family in Pursat province, about 3 hours northwest of Phnom Penh. By God's grace, they were able to help the McPhails with the planting of the Inheritance in Christ Church (ICC). As of 2011, ICC has a Cambodian pastor named Ti.
After 5 years in Pursat province, the Seawright family moved to the province of Pailin near the border of Thailand and served the Lord in this province for 3 years. In March 2013, their family moved to the city of Battambang, the second largest city of Cambodia. They have been involved in evangelistic and discipleship teaching, church-starting and church-strengthening, as well as resource and leadership development.
In November 2013, Chris partnered together with two other missionaries (Forrest McPhail and Michael Carlyle) and formed the "Seeking the Wisdom of Jesus" Publishing Association. The Association has written and published four resources so far in the Cambodian language for the use of evangelism and discipleship.
The Seawrights have a family and ministry website: www.untilthenetisfull.com. The Association resources are located at that website.
