Bio

Jolea Jensen graduated from Bob Jones University in 2001 with her B. Mus. in Church Music and in 2006 with an M.A. in Church Ministries. From 2001 to 2004, she taught at a small Christian school in Memphis, Tennessee.  She taught on the music faculty at Bob Jones Memorial Bible College in the Philippines as a furlough replacement for Doug and Ruth Bachorik during the 2006-2007 school year. When she returned for another year of short term ministry, the Bachoriks asked her to consider serving full-time at the college. She accepted God's call to become a career missionary and returned to the field in 2010.

Bob Jones Memorial Bible College seeks to support the local church by training believers in Bible and Music.  The goal of the music program at BJMBC is to teach students to use and appreciate quality music that honors the Lord.  Many of the music students at BJMBC are involved in outreach ministries such as teaching Sunday School, Bible Clubs, and Personal Evangelism.

Jolea enjoys training young people to use their God-given talents for the ministry.  She teaches private and group piano lessons, music theory, handbells, and music education classes.

She also writes piano arrangements, some of which have been published through New Song Ministries, a music publishing ministry of Doug Bachorik.  Several of her current and former students are multiplying her efforts by becoming teachers themselves.  Different groups of students have organized ministry teams that travel to individual churches both in Manila and outside of Manila.  These teams offer training not only in basic musical skills (which are often greatly lacking in Filipinochurches) but also biblical music philosophy.

On the weekends, Jolea assists in various ministries of Christian Baptist Church in the province of Bulacan, two hours away from her home in Manila.  She enjoys helping with children's Bible clubs, Sunday School, visitation, tract distribution, one-on-one witnessing, and choir.  She is also involved with a weekly tract distribution outreach on a local public university campus.

Jolea's ministry verse is Psalm 40:3, "And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord."  Her desire is that many will hear the truth of the Gospel and will come to know Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.
