Fred and Ruth Fueller began serving the Lord with GFA since 1994. Fred grew up in a German home in the States, and Ruth's parents moved to Germany as missionaries when she was 13. The influence of German customs and language in their lives was one important factor the Lord used to show them that He wanted them to serve in Germany. Also, the fact that they met in Germany, when Fred was on the German mission team with Bob Jones University and Ruth was home with her parents for the summer of 1985, makes Germany hold a special place in their hearts.
Fred and Ruth Fueller moved to Germany the summer of 1994. After working with other missionaries for several years, they began a church plant in the town of Barmstedt in 2008. Barmstedt is about a 30-minute drive from Hamburg, one of Germany’s largest cities.
God gave them five children who have all been a huge help in their ministry. Heidi, Julianna, and Kassandra are married and live in the USA. Travis and Erik both did an apprenticeship in their town and for now are working as they seek God’s will for the future.
In February of 2022, Fred went to be with the Lord after battling liver disease for several years. Ruth is continuing her ministry of evangelizing and discipling ladies in Germany. She also has continued input into the youth group, which has been meeting in her home. Ruth speaks to ladies’ groups at other churches in Germany and even in other German-speaking countries.
