King Asa's reign is a testament to faith and trust in God's presence and promises, as well as an illustration of the failure to do so. Asa relied on the LORD and saw God do great things, but in his latter years, he failed to rely on the LORD, resulting in sad consequences. In this workshop, we applied this OT example to believers in the NT who are promised God's presence and power through His Spirit. We must actively and continually rely on Him in order to fulfill the Great Commission. We must maintain this reliance on God's presence and promises until the end of our ministries, unlike King Asa. (See 1 Kings 15 and 2 Chronicles 14-16.)
