Five Common Mistakes in Church Documents

Monday, April 24, 2023 | Guest: David Shoaf |
Topics: Church Life

Navigating ministry without a senior pastor or any pastor at all is challenging. But churches can add clarity and eliminate confusion in transitions when their major church documents—constitution and by-laws, statement of faith, and church covenant—are up-to-date and followed. In this episode of RE: CHURCH, Marshall Fant interviews David Shoaf about five common mistakes that churches make in their governing documents. Pastor Shoaf pastored Independent Baptist Church of Bolingbrook, IL, for 44 years before transitioning to serve in GFA's interim pastor program. He has assisted several churches in updating their church documents as part of the process of calling a new pastor. You can contact Pastor Shoaf here with any questions.
