Because it delays a missionary's arrival on the field and consumes both financial and human resources in the process, the deputation model may be considered broken. But is it? That is the topic of discussion in this roundtable by panelists Joel Arnold (Canada), Alan Patterson (Home Office), Stan Shelton (Austria), and Rachel Steffensmeier (Philippines).

Panelists define "deputation," identify other models, present biblical support for the deputation model, consider some of the blessings of deputation to both churches and missionaries, and identify some ways deputation could be improved.
