GFA’s South America E3 Team, led by Bill and Jocelyn Lovegrove, will survey church-planting and evangelistic opportunities; assist with a multi-church winter camp; visit missionaries, national pastors, and churches; and experience Hispanic culture in the Southern Cone countries of Uruguay and Argentina.
Where: Uruguay and Argentina
When: Four weeks, approximately mid-June to mid-July (winter in South America)
Team leaders: Dr. Bill and Jocelyn Lovegrove
Cost: Each team member is expected to raise $4,000. All support raised can be processed through GFA Missions and is tax deductible. Deputation meetings in local churches will help offset team costs.
Qualifications: Each team member will be interviewed by GFA and must hold to and represent well GFA’s doctrinal position and core values. Applicants do not need to be based in Greenville but must be members of an independent Baptist or Bible church. Team members should have some level of interest in missions to a Spanish-speaking country.
Language proficiency: Team members should have at least an A2 level of Spanish fluency for this team, which corresponds to 3–4 semesters of college Spanish. Those with some Spanish ability will be asked to take the brief online test at spanishlevel.com/spanish-level-test/ without study and without looking up any answers.
Informational Meeting: Monday, August 31, at 7 p.m. at the GFA Home Office. A Zoom option is available for those not able to attend in person. Contact Dr. Timothy Berrey by email for the Zoom link.
