Bio

Karen had the privilege of being raised in a faithful Christian home and church in New Hampshire. She was saved at the age of five and then in high school dedicated her life to the Lord's service during a missions conference. Although unclear concerning her particular calling, Karen felt that she should pursue education in the medical field and so received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Bob Jones University in 2002.

During the course of 2005-2007, the Lord opened the door for two different short-term medical ministry opportunities in Papua New Guinea.  After these short-term assignments, Karen became burdened for teaching people biblical truth in their tribal language and returned to Papua New Guinea in 2010 to work alongside the ongoing church-planting work in the village of Kiari.

Karen uses the tribal language, Siar, to disciple and evangelize people through the formal and informal opportunities afforded by discipleship and literacy classes, personal evangelistic Bible studies, regularly scheduled clinic times, medical home visits, the training of Sunday school teachers, and the development of Sunday school curriculum.
