Growing up on a busy dairy farm in Wisconsin, Marnie regularly went to church with her family and attended a Christian school. While in high school Marnie repented of her sin and asked Jesus to be her Savior.
Through teaching for ten years at Kettle Moraine Baptist Academy in Wisconsin, six years at Heritage Christian School in Illinois, and almost four years in Africa, Marnie has been privileged to help prepare the heart’s soil in the lives of many young people. She has been actively involved in each ministry, teaching Sunday school, assisting in the youth groups, and seeking to give the Gospel and make disciples through one-on-one Bible studies.
The Lord allowed Marnie to teach missionary children in Cameroon from 2008-2010 and 2013-2014. He also gave her a burden for the African people. She completed language training and moved back to Cameroon in September 2019, where she served God until August 2024.
In June 2023, her teammate left Cameroon due to declining health, so Marnie began asking God to send her another teammate. Eight months later, God called her coworker home to heaven and answered Marnie’s prayer by directing her to join Walter and Carol Loescher, who minister in a church plant in Luxembourg and a Bible institute in France. The Loeschers were the team leaders in Cameroon during Marnie’s time there as a homeschool teacher.
Marnie believes God has prepared her to continue the same work in France that she did first in the US and then in Cameroon. Her desire is to reach the millions of unreached souls through involvement in the church-planting ministry, conducting children’s and ladies’ Bible studies, and encouraging the believers. The Bible institute trains men to be future pastors and gives young ladies Bible training to equip them as future pastor’s wives and Bible teachers. Marnie will work in a support role at the Bible institute and have opportunity to encourage the young ladies who attend.
