Bio
Sid and Susie both grew up as missionary kids in Colombia, South America. Sid’s family served in the small towns of Colombia while Susie’s family ministered to Indians in the jungles. However, they did not meet until both attended Bob Jones University. Following graduation they were married the summer of 1993.
Having always had a love for missions and especially for Spanish people, the Messers surrendered to the Lord's call to go to South America as missionaries in the spring of 2004. Four months later the Lord providentially used an Ecuadorian pastor in Greenville, South Carolina, to direct them to the country of Ecuador.
Sid and Susie are deeply grateful to the Lord for the opportunity to have planted two churches in Ecuador. Iglesia Bautista El Faro (Lighthouse Baptist Church) in Manta was established in 2007, and Iglesia Bautista La Victoria (Victory Baptist Church) in El Carmen was founded in 2025. It is the Messers’ desire not only to have lost souls come to Christ but that they would, in fact, become followers of Jesus Christ and therefore glorify God for His mercy.
They have been blessed with four children and six grandsons, and they greatly rejoice that all of their children are seeking to live for the Lord and raise their families for His glory.
