Bio
Saved as a young man at age 24, Rick Arrowood was called to preach nine months later. He was ordained into Gospel-preaching ministry on January 28, 1979, and he graduated in 1980 from Tennessee Temple University with a degree in pastoral studies. In 2000, he received an Honorary Doctor of Divinity from Bob Jones University.
Dr. Arrowood served as a senior pastor for over 41 years. He began his pastoral ministry while still a student in Bible college and served two churches in Alabama from 1978 to 1981. In 1981 the Lord led him and his family to Calvary Baptist Church in Mannington, West Virginia, for six years, and in 1987, he went to Troy Baptist Temple in Troy, Ohio, where he served as senior pastor for 21 years. In 2008, the Lord sent him to Eagledale/Crosspointe Baptist Church in Indianapolis, Indiana, where he pastored until his retirement in June of 2020.
Pastor Arrowood’s heartbeat is three-fold: evangelizing the lost as set forth in Acts 1:8; edifying the local church in love as found in Ephesians 4:16; and encouraging families to live godly lives in the present evil world as described in Titus 2:12.
Dr. Arrowood presently serves on the Board and the Executive Committee of Baptist World Mission. As president of Slavic Baptist Mission, he is an associate missionary of Baptist World Mission, while also serving on the interim pastor team of Gospel Fellowship Association.
Rick and Dolly were married in 1974 and have two children, Beth Anne and Daniel Bert, who are both graduates of Ambassador Baptist College and are serving the Lord in their local churches. Beth Anne and Darren McFadden have two children, and they actively serve at Fairview Baptist in Decatur, Alabama. Bert, and his wife, Christina, live in Indianapolis with their five children and serve in various ministries at Crosspointe Baptist Church.
