Joaquin and Paqui Lopez have partnered with GFA in the extension of the Gospel in Spain since 1995. Both of them were born in the country of Spain. Paqui comes from a Roman Catholic background, and at 14 years old she came to know the Lord through the ministry of missionaries. Joaquin is a third-generation Bible-believing Christian.
In 1981 they got married. The Lord gave them their first daughter, Sara; and later three more children were added to the family: Daniel, Ana, and Debi.
They came to the USA for Bible training, and in 1997, after completing their training, they started a church in Mataro. This is a city of 120,000 people located 25 miles North of the great metropolitan city of Barcelona.
After ten years of ministry, the church at Mataro became completely self- supported with a beautiful building that the church was able to buy. In 2009 they started their second church plant ministry 60 miles South of Barcelona in the province of Tarragona.
This area is called el Tarracones and was one of the favorite areas in Spain by the Roman Empire 2000 years ago. Several important cities in a 25-mile radius need a Bible-believing church; cities like Tarragona, Reus, Valls, and el Vendrell. Please pray that the Lord will send laborers into these needy cities. They are looking forward to their next appointment by the Lord to start another church in one of these cities.
