David and Trina Shoaf

Status: Interim Pastor

Location: North America
Field: United States

During his seminary training at Tennessee Temple Seminary, David and Trina Shoaf were married, David was ordained, and he began pastoring a church part-time in Georgia. In 1972 they moved to Michigan to minister at a church plant. Then in 1975 they moved to Bolingbrook, IL. After pastoring Independent Baptist Church of Bolingbrook for 44 years, David began working with GFA as an interim pastor. The Shoafs are passionate about the need and opportunity they have to serve churches as the churches prepare for the next pastor-shepherd the Lord has for them.

David is the President of Heritage Baptist Coalition, a nationals-only mission board, and he has been trained (but not certified) by NANC as a counselor. He is presently taking church consulting courses to be better equipped to counsel the churches he is helping as an interim pastor.

The Shoafs have continued to see God do amazing things during the nine months David served as interim pastor in Galesburg, IL, and the five months he served in Colchester, IL. Both churches found their “practically perfect” pastor, and the Shoafs have moved on to Palmer, MA.

David and Trina have three children and seven wonderful grandchildren (ranging in age from 5 to 20) in Illinois and Ohio. Colossians 2:5-8 has been David’s prayer for them and the next generation.
