Bio
Originally from Ohio, Diana began serving in Mexico in 1980. In 1983, Diana and Julia Garst moved to Tamazunchale, Mexico, to help in a church-planting ministry. During her 21 years in Tamazunchale, Diana taught children’s classes, Sunday school, English, flute, and piano classes, and directed children’s and youth choirs.
Seeing that the Tamazunchale church had a national pastor, Sunday school teachers, and two flute students who could take over the music, Diana and Julia felt led by the Lord to move to Tampamolon in 2004. In that ministry Diana was active in visitation, teaching the children on Sunday evenings, and accompanying hymns with keyboard and flute.
Over the years, Diana participated extensively in music ministry, teaching flute and basic music theory at the music camp in Mexico. She organized the special music at youth camp and helped teach and do music for VBS. For ladies’ conferences, she organized the music and led the singing.
In November 2022, Diana transitioned to helping a church-planting effort in Texas, moving from Mexico to Texas in the spring of 2023. There she helped with music, taught the children, and participated in visitation.
Due to increased health challenges, Diana retired from missionary service in 2026 and moved to an assisted living facility in Greenville, SC.
