Growing up on a busy dairy farm in Wisconsin, Marnie regularly attended church with her family, and went to a Christian school. While in high school, Marnie repented of her sin and asked Jesus to be her Savior.
After Marnie graduated from Bob Jones University in 1995 with a B.S. in special education, God placed her in a Christian school and church ministry with a family who was preparing to go to Cameroon. During a furlough, they suggested Marnie pray about homeschooling there.
The Lord allowed Marnie to teach missionary children in Cameroon from 2008 to 2010. He also gave her a burden for the African people. A second trip there for the 2013-14 school year, followed by six months in a restricted access nation, solidified that burden.
After teaching for ten years at Kettle Moraine Baptist Academy in Whitewater, WI; six years at Heritage Christian School in Frankfort, IL; and almost four years in Africa, Marnie has been privileged to help prepare the heart's soil in the lives of many young people. She has been actively involved in each ministry, teaching Sunday school, assisting in the youth groups, and seeking to give the Gospel and make disciples through one-on-one Bible studies.
She completed language training and moved to Cameroon in September of 2019.
Marnie believes God has prepared her to continue this same work on a foreign field. Her desire is to reach the millions of unreached souls in Cameroon through involvement in the church planting ministry, teaching Bible clubs in her neighborhood and bush villages, and conducting children's and ladies' Bible studies.
