Pastor Jim Houtz shepherded Sunnyside Baptist Church in North Rose, NY, from December 2003 to October 2025. Throughout his 35 years of pastoral ministry, he has ministered in four different churches in the states of Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and New York. He also served as a board member of the Bible to Youth Camp in Pennsylvania, president of the North Central Pennsylvania Pastors Association, and president of the Central Pennsylvania Fundamental Pastors Fellowship. Pastor Houtz was blessed as well with three opportunities to teach Bible classes at a Christian college in India.

Jim was raised on a dairy farm in Central Pennsylvania. While his wife’s family roots were in Central PA, Vicky lived most of her life before marriage in the Southeast due to her stepfather serving the United States Navy. Jim and Vicky have seven sons.

Pastor Houtz was 25 years old, married, and had a two-year old son when he began attending Bob Jones University. He completed both a BA in Bible and an MA in Theology from BJU.
